Microprocessor

The microprocessor is an integrated circuit that contains all the functions of a CPU of a computer.

Transistor

The Transistor has effected the miniaturization process greatly within technology. The transistor is an amplifier or an electrically controlled switch. Before transistors, vacuum tubes were used in place of transistors. Vacuum tubes, however, were very large compared to the transistor and it required a warm-up period before it could be used.
